Description: Join us for Pottery – Beginner and Intermediate Wheel Throwing. This wheel throwing class is for students who have never used the potter’s wheel as well as students who are still developing their throwing skills. Participants will learn how to prep clay for wheel throwing as well as how to center, open, pull and push the clay on the wheel. Guided by a local professional pottery artist, students will practice making basic cylinder shapes such as mugs and bowls. Each class is structured for you to learn a technique with the end goal being a bowl and mug. Students with some experience are welcome to bring their ideas and we will help you create them into reality. Classes take place once a week for 2-hour sessions for 4 weeks. The class includes use of one of our pottery wheels, clay, tools, glaze as well as bisque and glaze firing of completed pieces.
